How to obtain access to biological samples from the DNB

1) Research idea with guidance from DNB

2) Ethical approval (VEK)

3) Approval at your own research institution

4) Application to the DNB

5) Review and Approval by DNB Scientific Committee

6) Practical Considerations and Disclosure of Samples

 

Fees for withdrawal, submission and storage of biological samples

As per July 1st 2026 withdrawal of samples from the DNB as well as submission and storage is associated with a user fee.

PKU cards
The use of samples (PKU cards/heel prick blood spots) from the National Screening for Congenital Disorders is subject to fees for retrieval and punching. For details, please contact sikkerpost-ms@ssi.dk.
